Abstract

This research examined the particular history of the curriculum of natural sciences in the second half of the twentieth century, in order to identify continuities, transformations and ruptures in it, as well as to discover possible causes and historical scenarios for the observed changes. For this purpose, the paper presents an archaeological history of the natural sciences curriculum in basic secondary education in Colombia. The second half of the twentieth century and the year 2015 were established as time limits (although not fixed ones). Six important discursive regularities were found in the history of the curriculum of natural sciences: hygienization, the concept of development, the use of resources, time management, student assessment, and scientific thinking.
