How to Develop Critical Thinking Processes through the Pedagogy of the Question

Abstract

This paper is a proposal to develop, in a systematic and intentional way, the necessary skills to structure a critical thinking through the pedagogy of the question, by means of an academic space provided by the optometry program at La Salle University. The proposal came after making a diagnosis about the state of logical reasoning (a key component of critical thinking) in first semester optometry students during the first cycle of 2010, as a way of visualizing the potential of developing this skill and to demonstrate the need to promote critical thinking skills.
