Citizen Education: A Look at Pedagogic Practices

Abstract

This paper synthesizes the research entitled Citizen education: a look at pedagogic practices, which aimed to describe the pedagogic practices implemented by a group of teachers in Bogota who aimed to promote citizen education. The method used for this qualitative research was based on the multiple case study and it aimed to generate a descriptive knowledge that involved the analysis of the teachers’ discourse, together with the students’ perspective. A reflection, review and analysis was generated of the suggested subjects, such as the teachers’ discourses and didactics, which, when compared with the students’ testimonies, made it possible to find incoherencies in what the teachers do and what the students perceive in regards to citizen training
