Abstract
This article summarizes the research entitled Teaching experiences of non-education professionals (NEP) at public schools in Bogotá, D. C., with the aim of characterizing the experience of these teachers, who could be employed at public schools in Bogotá, D.C., thanks to the Decree No. 1278 of 2002. The method that guided this research, supported by theory, addressed three aspects of the reality of three educational institutions: characterizing the teaching experience of those non-education professionals who participated in the study; identifying the conditions that made possible the access of these professionals to the public school system; and problematizing some aspects of teacher education regarding the entrance of these professionals to this work area.
