Virtual Ethnography in a Research With Girls

Abstract

Human relationships are developed face-to-face, but they may also happen virtually. Children are no exception to this phenomenon. As such, Facebook is a space for the investigation. A virtual ethnography was carried out with girls from the Jorbalán School who used this social network. The following experience is shared: Relationship between Facebook wall posts and school life: tenth grade students from Jorbalán School. This paper describes different features of this ethnography, and presents instruments for instruments for gathering information such as observing and cyber interview. In addition, this paper shows that virtual interactions can affect the daily lives of children.
