Abstract
This paper presents the results of a research conducted in the rural and urban educational contexts. Voices from students, teachers and directors, as well as the analysis of the Student Handbook’s content, were used to describe and compare the prevailing practices about ensuring protection rights. The results, analysis and discussion made it possible to draw conclusions aiming to make some reflections on the construction and implementation of the student handbooks and on the practices against discrimination and neglect in the studied population.
