This article presents findings found in the state of the art of the research project called “Study on the factors that affect school dropout at the preschool level of the Gonzalo Suarez Rendón Educational Institution.” The research falls within the category of review with a qualitative approach and documentary method from which the factors involved in school dropout and the strategies that have been used to counteract this phenomenon were investigated. The above makes evident the need for joint work between students, family and school to contribute to permanence and satisfaction in school, understood as a hospitable space in which one wishes to move.
