Teacher Training Stories in Colombia during the Past Four Decades

Abstract

This paper is based on the research entitled Teacher Training Stories in Colombia during the Past Four Decades. The proposal was first made by students of the Master of Education program at La Salle University, and it aimed to research the relevant aspects of the continuities and discontinuities of teacher training in the country, through the life stories of a number of teachers that participated in the research. These stories made it possible to extract very valuable information for the research analysis, since the idea was not to research it just for the sake of it, or to listen without giving sense to the information gathered from the stories; the main purpose of using it was to find relevant factors that would contribute to the object of the study, and discern whether they were all important or if a selection was necessary based on the research margin suggested.
