Lourenço Filho: Contributions to a theory of school administration in Brazil

Abstract

<p>In 1963, Manoel Bergström Lourenço Filho (1897-1970) published his work entitled Organization and School Administration, which defined him as one of the pioneer authors in the systematization of the theory of school administration in Brazil. Thus this article aims to analyze the contribution of Lourenço Filho to the development and dissemination of precepts on this subject, by identifying the principles proposed by the author to make the actions of the organizers and administrators of school services more efficient.</p>
