The methodology is based on qualitative research, using the historical-hermeneutic approach as well as ethnographic method; participant observation and focus groups were conducted, and the collected data was examined using the categorical analysis technique. The study evidenced the importance of affective traits as determinants of socio-cognitive preparation regarding learning objectives and tasks; similarly, it identified motivational factors and student expectations.
