Rethinking the role of dialogue for social inclusion, political accountability, and dialogic education

Abstract

This article presents the results of a documentary analysis on the state of the art on dialogue and its relation to education and society. It consists of two parts: the first presents some theoretical perspectives, assumptions, and contexts of development for the concept of dialogue that make possible its comprehension; the second part proposes some work fields, problems, and positions around the dialogue. Subsequently, scholarly contributions on the dialogue, as well as monographic texts and research articles are analyzed, which evidence the tendency to think about dialogicity in close relation with the tensions and conflicts of society; in addition, they seek to link the dialogue to the purpose of forming human personalities that are open to debate and social dialogue, but, above all, to contribute to the educational and social project of the 21st century.
