The research is bibliographical in nature and aims to understand how games are perceived in teaching institutions and to learn which games are methodologically used by the teacher in the teachinglearning process. This is because the child’s potentialities, such as communication and expression, language development and social interaction, as well as the elaboration of thought and the creation of strategies to act in society, can be developed through play, insofar as, once involved in that action, the child constructs and rebuild his or her world. As a result, the study considered that playing and games are essential for child development, since they contribute to the construction of knowledge of reality and social interaction
