Abstract

The objective of this article is to show the prevalent approaches to learning in Chinese university students of Spanish as a second language and their possible relation to performance, as well as to examine the changes that may occur in these approaches during two semesters of study in Uruguay. It is a case study with all of the students who participated in the UC-UU Exchange Program, corresponding to 2015. The research design presents longitudinal and correlational elements. The selected techniques include the application, in two instances (at the beginning of the first semester and at the end of the second semester), of the self-administered study process questionnaire (R-SPQ-2F) by Biggs, Kember, and Leung (2001), in the Spanish translation of Hernández Pina (2001).
