Abstract
This paper presents an overview of positive experiences in education under the title of best practices and relevant issues such as school climate, to serve as a reference to educational institutions seeking a guide to improve the quality of education offered to students. It starts with defining what is meant by a good practice, based on a study by PREAL (Program for Promotion of Educational Reform in Latin America and the Caribbean), on educational innovations implemented in Latin America and the Caribbean for primary and secondary education entitled “Best Practices in Educational Policy and Educational Reform”, to contrast with other research on the most successful educational systems in the world according to international test results. Another aspect that would be impossible to ignore, is the use of new information technologies and communication as their role is crucial in the educational process and search for quality.
