Abstract
Catechesis in Belgium usually has been an activity that prepared children to receive certain sacraments of Christian initiation, Eucharist and Confirmation. This catechetical activity was structured in time and in a pastoral vision built for stable Church, mostly accepted and appreciated, in a logical framework of Christian families. Today, it is not only the ways of organiz-ing initial catechesis that pose problems. It is more deeply the need to rediscover the theological meaning of the sacraments, and the need to move to a missionary and com-munity logic.
